<< <i>I thought there was a link at the bottom of each auction to report the issue. One of the options is stolen picture. Just report every auction he puts up with your pics and they should be pulled. >>

Not exactly true. You have to prove that the picture is your's via a watermark or something.

I got nailed with this on some FEV's I was selling. eBay took no action.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

  • LOL.......The response is "cultural". That's how we respond here in Brooklyn, New York. We're not into the politically correct crap here in Brooklyn.

<< <i>You guys should see the emails he sent me......My response was appropriate. He also used profanity in his email and got all of you to email me and break my chops. Don't you people have better things to do? I can remove the picture since it has no bearing on my listing. It's worse than dealing with a woman. You know when your wife nags you about something and you just do it to shut her up. Well I feel the same way in this situation and may take the picture down.

On another note, I would like to thank the board members. I started collecting in 2006, and thanks to the likes of ericj, and a few others, I purchased these coins, W platinum, 20th Anniversary sets, etc. I have made a few bucks thanks to this forum and I would like to give credit where credit is due.

    Regards,

    Vic >>

    Ah hah!

Regardless of your opinion, Scott doesn;t want you to use his photo so the nice thing to do would be to take it down.

    Oh boy, lets see ‘em.

    << <i>.My response was appropriate. >>

I think not. The appropriate response would have been “Sorry” followed by taking down his photo.

<< <i>He also used profanity in his email and got all of you to email me and break my chops. >>

It seems to have gotten your attention.

<< <i>Don't you people have better things to do? >>

It would appear that the answer is no.

<< <i>I can remove the picture since it has no bearing on my listing. >>

Then why don’t you? And why did you swipe it in the first place?

    << <i>It's worse than dealing with a woman. >>

So, you’re not only a picture thief you’re a misogynist.

<< <i>You know when your wife nags you about something and you just do it to shut her up. >>

No. I just ignore her nagging.

<< <i>Well I feel the same way in this situation and may take the picture down. >>

    That’s real nice. You’re a real saint.

How did you make out with your pump and dump of the First Spouses?

The place was never the same after the Dodgers left.

  • You may want to carefully weigh your reaction, tone of the response indicates seller may be a resident of a some state or federal facility.

LOL..... I'm not a resident of a federal facility but you are close. I guess Brooklyn is home to such people. In fact, I'd say that most residents in here belong in a federal facility.

It does suck that your pic was jacked and now the nutty seller is just blowing you off. But as hard to swallow as this may be, the seller said a mouthful by offering such a limp retort. I wouldn't get too choked up about it. Don't let it drain you! You're bound to come out ahead in the long run.

  • How did you make out with your pump and dump of the First Spouses?

Oh man, I really hate those. Thank god the price of gold went up so I still made a few dollars on those but they suck! I'm in for a few Platinum Uncirculated coins. Lets see how I do with those. You guys dump your stuff fast. Thank god I dumped all of my Silver 20th Anniversary sets last year. I'm stuck with a couple reverse proof plats too. I'm still learning. I'm only in this 2 years but I learn fast.

I think the pic thief and people who support him need to be hung from the telephone wires. I have had this done to me before - like the OP, I took literally hours attempting to get a good pic of a VERY tough shot/situation/vantage point, etc - Only to have it ripped off, and used to sell the EXACT same item that I was selling at the EXACT same time - both items on eBay with MY pics. I was doing this as my primary source of income. I had my attorney send them a very large bill, because I documented everything. I could prove the photos were mine, and I documented each and every time he used it (multiple!).

This person was not only a thief, but they were interfering with my income by using that stolen image to compete with me. Additionally, that person was insinuating that my photo of MY item, was the one that he was selling -- which was a lie and FRAUD.

So, to sum it up - the guy lost me probably quite a bit of money, he stole my hard work and used it against me. He lied to the public and got away with it -- Because eBay doesn't do anything. Occasionally they will send out form letters, but mostly they turn their heads if the thief is making them money.

Wow, didn't think this would turn into a royal rumble.

Vic is right, I did use the word fuc&ing, after several e-mails, and no responses. I was irritated, and felt used, I apologize for my choice of

words Vic. The main issue I had, was that I'm going to list the last of my 08/07 Eagles's, and didn't want prospective buyers to think

I was stealing someone elses pic. That is really the core issue I had. For the record, I didn't contact anyone here to harass you, they took

it upon themselves. I hope your auctions are successful Vic.

    Regards,
    Scott

    Hey Vic,

Try asking. I'd guess he would have let you use the photo if you just asked.

I've had a fair amount of folks ask me about borrowing pics. Every time I fellt flattered, and said of course.

You catch more flys with honey!!!

In the interim, your behavior before and after your theft is despicable.
