  I would be curious about whether when a shop is bought or sold if the current coin inventory is usually part of the deal.

  There is currently a coin shop for sale in Lockport, NY. I heard the figure of $250,000 but don't know if that include the inventory.

  What would be the value of such a business without its inventory?

  Furnishings, fixtures and the real estate if it is owned. There may even be an intangible to consider, Goodwill, if the owner has an established clientele that "goes with the territory". If the inventory were to be included in the sale, you would want to be sure that a very detailed accounting is provided.
