I am going to a coin show this weekend and I never seem to be prepared. The problem I have is with my Franklin full bell lines. I thought maybe Mitch or some of the other guys that do a lot of dealing could help me out. Full bell lines are not listed on the Grey sheets or the Blue sheet so I have no real reference when dealing for a coin. I know I can't use the PCGS retail price guids when selling a coin and Knowing the sale prices that are realized on EBAY doesn't help much at a show. Does anyone know of a price guide that would show the actual bid & ask price for full bell lines.

    I don't know of any. Why do you feel e-bay prices realized don't help at a show? If I know a 61-D MS66FBL refcently sold for X and Y prices, that will strongly influence what I am willing to pay at a show.

    I have the same problem when going to shows, as there is no
    criteria, other than using the CU priceguide as a ceiling,
    and ebay as a floor. I will be at the Baltimore show on Friday,
    and I can tell you I rarely am able to sell Franklins (to dealers)
    as it is such a specialty market. You will usually find some
    dealers who sell slabbed Bens, and they usually are pretty high,
    especially on the keys. As a Franklin specialist, I do the
    majority of my selling online; as for buying, I will buy at
    shows if the price is right. The shows are where I scour the
    bourse for raw coins, as you still have dealers who use the
    greysheet and ignore FBL. Amazing!!

    GEE... you mean that those greysheet prices that I have been paying are not fbl...yikes no wonder everyone's been selling all those bens to me...LOL Jon

    I do think the EBAY prices are good , but unless you have the paper work with you it doesn't do you much good. I guess I could log all the prices realized over a certain period to get a decent average price, but I don't have time for that for this show.

    You might try getting yourself a PALM device. These are invaluable
    at a show...good hunting!
