Re-selling your MSN discount stuff on ebay...

Is that considered an "illegal" move and is that grounds for MSN to cancel your cashback if they "catch" you? Does anyone know? I have a double eagle I bought that I want to get rid of but I don't wanna lose my $200

  • According to their terms, you can't use the cashback to purchase something for resale.

If you purchased a slabbed coin with a number on it then it might be easy for them to catch you if you try to sell it.

I'd keep playing. I don't think the heavy stuff will be coming down for quite a while!

I do not see why it would be taboo. I certainly would not list it as hey I saved $200 with MSn and you can too.

  • I'm selling the darn thing and keeping the $200...I feel so sneaky...almost like a 15 year old sneaking out of the house at night for the first time. image
  • IIRC someone posted to one of these threads recently that the rules were updated and they don't care if you resell anymore, just don't quote me on that. image

I think it's in the TOS...just read that.
eBay does not limit purchases eligible for Cashback Rewards by the purpose for which they are acquired (e.g., purchases acquired for resale).
  • lol I was being lazy. Thanks casman, thats the quote I was thinking of. I found the other thread, here is what was posted, must be the ebay TOS for the cashback.

"I copied the below from the eBay Cashback programs conditions. It specifically states you CAN buy with the intent of resale...

    # eBay does not limit purchases eligible for Cashback Rewards by the purpose for which they are acquired (e.g., purchases acquired for resale). The Cashback Rewards that you are eligible to obtain from Microsoft will be disclosed to you on www.eBay.com and will be equal to a percentage of the final sale price of the first item purchased during an Online Session (excluding shipping and handling fees, insurance fees and other such fees), for up to a maximum of $200.00 per Online Session. Cashback Rewards will be available in your Program account to transfer to your PayPal account approximately sixty (60) days of the date on which you complete your purchase on eBay.com. You must have a PayPal account in order to receive Cashback Rewards for purchases on www.eBay.com. You may not redeem any Cashback Rewards until you have earned a total of $5.00 in Cashback Rewards; "
