Aother ebayer to block...

There is a 1892 S Morgan up on the bay (item Number 110290626896). The pictures are absolute crap, but the reverse appears to be the 1921 reverse, which would mena that this coin is a counterfiet.

I sent the seller, mystery309, an email thru ebay's system to let him know that the coin appeared to be a fake. Rather than describe the response and the following exchange, I'll just post them all below:

My intial message:

Dear mystery309,

FYI, your 92S appears to be a counterfiet. The reverse is completely wrong. Just thought that you should know.

Dear raybob15239,

what was the ?

- mystery309

********************

Dear mystery309,

My message was that the coin appears to be a counterfiet. The reverse is wrong. I was just letting you know. (The reverse is a 1921 Morgan Reverse- a one-year only reverse. A genuine 1892 S would have a slanted arrow feather, not parallel.

Dear raybob15239,

Ok i do not know what your motives are but you all keep writing and i will keep copy and pasting them to trust and safety.Just for your information the coin was bought by me from ne of the largest collectors and sellers on ebay. But you keep writing as i am hoping that all your harrassing emails will land you all where you belong OFF EBAY

- mystery309

********************

Dear mystery309,

Hey, all I was saying was that it looked like the coin was not genuine. I was trying to give you a heads up. I have no agenda and am not harassing you. I looked at ther coin as a potential purchase and the reverse picture looked wrong to me. As a courtesy, I tried to gove you a heads up. I didn't report you to ebay, or do anything to kill your auction. I just tried to warn you that there may be a problem. So go ahead and report me to ebay for trying to help you out. Geez... last time I try to be helpful.

- raybob15239

********************
Dear raybob15239,

Dear Sir,Your first email stated that the coin was a fake.I have the email and have sent it to ebay as with all your harassing emails you have sent and not once untill now has your tone been in a informative one,all other emails were accussing me of selling fake coins. So yes i have reprted you to ebay and will continue to do so.To try and hide now behind the pretence that you were interested in the coin is a joke and you are not only a disgrace to yourself but to ebay.John

- mystery309

********************

Dear mystery309,

Whatever. I tried to warn you of a possible fake. You never engaged me in conversation; you just reported ME to ebay and then got nasty with me. I could have just gone to ebay and reported a counterfiet; I didn't. I contacted you directly. I didn't send you any harrassing emails. I didn't accuse you of selling fake coins. I tried to warn you about one I saw that appeared to be counterfiet. John, you are a jerk, plain and simple. Report me to ebay for calling you that, too.

- raybob15239

Dear raybob15239,

To pusshead, you did and i will be happy to and did your mother have any kids that wern:t mentaly challenged.

Dear mystery309,

I don't think that I was "harassing" in any way. I don't think that I was out of line calling him a jerk, either. In any event, add him to your radar!

Well, real or not, the coin is polished beyond belief and barely worth more than silver.

I can say for certain three things: The coin is a highly polished, circulated POC; it is overpriced by $6888; and he is a jerk.

Can you or someone else please post descriptive pictures of the two different reverses? I'm just not clear on what the differences are and I'd like to play with this fellow too!

I think I figured it out.

On the fletching, the top fletch is relatively straight on the 1921 compared to the fletch on earlier years which has a much sharper angle to it.

    Right?

Edited due to a dyslexical response!

Actually, the coin might not be fake -- the reverse does not look like a 21-S, just appears polished to death, as is the rest of the coin.
  • Added to the blocked list just for being a dork...

A 1921-S on the left and an 1897 on the Right!

    imageimage

And if thats the case then the coin in the auction appears to have the 1921 reverse but that could just be the angle of the hilighting.

But I have a question, how do you block a seller? The only way I know of is self restraint by not bidding.

This is the seller that called me out on his auction for a 1795 DBSE dollar (see my post from yesterday - he finally pulled the auction but alleges that he sold it off-ebay). He is a crass SOB (sorry to any other SOB's that may be offended by being lumped in with this chump).

At least he did not claim that you have a row boat butt!!
  • jdillanejdillane Posts: 2,365 ✭✭✭
Others have already asserted she's a fake but there seems to be some dispute in that regard. I tried to bid melt but I have been blocked!

This does not block someone as a seller, it only prevents someone from bidding or buying something from me. image

You can't, but what I do, since my "Favorites Seller List" isn't full, is I add folks to it and put comments in there such as "Don't buy from this dorkus as they are a cheat/moron/etc"

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Is it the same seller as the 1795 $ in this thread?

    1795 dollar thread
    Ed
  • From the pictures you can not tell much from the fuzzy, out of focus angles. The comments seem a little bitter from both parties. Probally alot more from the seller. Raybob was trying to tell Mystery that his coin looked counterfiet. Raybob is correct about the 21 reverse, but how you can see that last feather is beyond my 24" screen. Mystery really got defensive and jumped the gun and reported to Ebay and started to call names(childish). My collection of thoughts are that the coin is either highly cleaned and polished or Chinese counterfiet. Either way, I wouldn't buy from such an individual. image
  • I had contacted him too. He's a jerk.

    Lee,

You make a very solid point. I believe it is impossible to "block" a seller. But I believe anyone who is this unprofessional as a seller, would be someone you would want to keep off your buyer's list as well. JMHO.

As far as blocking him as a seller, that would be manual bidding autonomy! image

    Dear raybob15239,

Me why are you doing this. You have nothing else to do but send rude emails and start trouble.Look at my feedback i never treat people like you and do not understand why you think you have the right to continue to harass me when i have done nothing to you.YOU WERE THE ONE THAT STARTED THE NAME CALLING,YOU WERE THE ONE THAT SENT THE RUDE EMAILS.GO AWAY AND YOU WILL NEVER GROW UP THAT IS QUITE OBVIOUS!

    - mystery309

Can some one please tell me where I was rude? I called him a jerk only after he went ballistic on me.

Who would be dumb enough to pay $6900 for a key date coin with pictures like that and not certified? Maybe he is hoping someone will take a chance and offer $1500 which he will gladly snap up?

Reverse is not that of a 1921, but the coin looks like such a diabolical piece of shyte that I'm happy to let him run up listing fees on something he'll never sell for more than melt.
