Postman was good to me yesterday, Part 2: off-center 1968-D Dime

It's not often lately that I get the chance to add coins to what I call my "core collection." These are sets that I started building ten or more years ago, and coins to extend or improve them just don't come along with any frequency. That said, in the last two weeks I got the chance to make nice additions to my clipped cent, off-center dime and CircCam™ type sets, and thanks to a couple of timely BST sales I was able to capitalize on all three. Since they're all much different, I decided to post about them each individually.

Next up is this off-center 1968-D Roosevelt Dime, purchased from west coast error coin dealer Allan Levy (Al's Coins). This is a better date, though in the early clad Roosie series the Philadelphia coins are much scarcer than their Denver counterparts. My set is still missing the Philly coins from 1968 through 1971, while I have Denver mint coins for all of those years. I actually had another off-center 1968-D a few years ago, but I traded it to another collector whose set was much closer to completion than mine, and covered the entire series including the silver issues. I'm quite happy to finally fill that hole in the album again with this example.

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

    ...Nice looking error.

A collection of these would be cool. image It might be tough though since, no doubt, some dates will be very elusive.
