ok vammers....little help here...

Just purchased this and am curious about the vam variety or varieties it possibly has. I noticed that there seems to be a loose strand of

hair protruding out of the back of her hairdo..(windy day?) also die cracks along the edge and the "O" seems to be leaning a little left.

I checked vamworld and they describe the "O" leaner but I don't see any attribution of the extra strand of hair....

Has anyone seen this before? If the pics aren't strong enough for this evaluation, I will post better ones once I have it in hand....

Thanks for playing along.....cheers.....image

Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.
  • I will do that once I receive it. Suspecting a double die? Hard to tell if those are just reflections or....? Any thoughts on the strand of hair

that protrudes from the back of her do?

Looks to me like the reverse wreath clashed thru the obverse?
    I'm guesssing a little. Vam's confound me.

Looks like just a minor clash of the wreath behind the hair. If the clash is strong enough to transfer some letters ot the obverse, then it's a little more desirable. Is there pitting on the reverse die in and near DOL?
  • It does look like a clash from the 1st or 2nd leaf on the left of the top cluster. It appears to be rotated 7-10 degrees. I also see what may be a faint mark under her chin possibly from the upper edge of the eagle's right wing (viewer's left) that would coincide with that rotation, but close-ups would be needed to determine if any letters clashed. Since most (common) clashing that you might expect to see on both the obverse and reverse doesn't appear to be present, I'm guessing that this is an LDS and the clashing has simply faded away.

  • Looks like a III21 obverse die used on VAMs 28A, 32, and 2A (in that order). Matches exactly to the clash positions and light die cracks.
Because of the light cracks on the obverse going from the right stars to M in UNUM, I'm guessing it's not a 28A.
  • Thanks for all of your input. One other question....how do these vams affect value? This is graded ms64 and was purchased for $60.

some carry a preium and some dont. If it is a top-100 hot-50 or hitlist 40 you can expect a premium.

If there are clashed letter tranfers there would be a premium, not huge but still a premium. Ckeck the neck real good. You may see paft of the G from God clashed (I think) and it will look like a trigger.
