Grade this big hunk of silver for me? - Label revealed at bottom of page
No idea how to grade Peace Dollars. What do you think? The scuffy lines you see are on the slab, not the coin.

Looks very clean if that's the case.....MS65?
The name is LEE!
<< <i>That looks MS65 to me all day long! A very strong MS65. >>

If the scratches are on the slab, the grade is right there in front of you already, gosh! Don't you know anything? That's what the TPG's are for in the first place, to save us tremendous amounts of time from actually learning how to grade. Dang, keep up with the times man.

<< <i>Guess 65. It depends on the quality of the luster which probably looks much better in hand. I always thought that the Peace dollar had a far more attractive design compared to the Morgan dollar. >>
i agree. the luster will really determine if it goes any higher... that
and luster breaks we cannot see.
to me it looks really nice. 65.
MS66 in my book
Very clean appearing coin

<< <i>so what's the grade on the slab? more importantly, how do YOU grade it? curious to know what you think of the coin. >>
Not just yet on the label.
I don't know enough about the series to accurately grade it. I don't own the coin either. I just saw it, was impressed by it and thought I'd see what you all had to say about it just for $hits and giggles. I can say the tiny black spots in the rays and the neck just under the chin and the hit in the rays near the E in LIBERTY kind of bug me. Think it's worth $165?
<< <i>Think it's worth $165? >>
I think so.

Plus being a coin known for it's shallow strike, the strike appears strong.
Nice piece, or should I say Peace.

<< <i>That's the cleanest cheek on a Peace Dollar I've seen in a long time >>
Clean, clean, clean. I'd say 65 with a bean. Excellent eye appeal.
The hit in the ray , the hit on the eagles wing, and the black spot , I feel , should keep it form going
66 @ PCGS , but NGC will probably 6 it .
Just my opinion.

She's a GEM based on what I see , super solid for the grade (65) .
The contact marks that are there are not distracting at all .
I can see how it "might" have a shot at 66 from PCGS ,(about a 15% chance) but I would not pay any more than 65 money .
Lewis
I feel the coin is a 64/65.
The hit on the eagles neck and wing tip will keep it down.
'25 p is a coin with a typically strong strike which this coin seems to have. It will all come down to luster. If this coin has blazing luster its a 65 at pcgs. Anything short of blazing and its a 64.
Not worth the asking price imo for a common date.
