  does the grading seem liberal to anyone else?? admittedly i dont know how to grade U.S. gold but i swear some of the marks in the field below TY of LIBERTY look like graffiti >>

  the marks in the field are just that. marks. not graffiti.
  
  as for the grade it seems reasonable. just marked up a lot on the
  obv. rev is pretty darn nice.
  
  look at the slab shots to see the nice luster.

  i don't know if the grade is appropriate, I have some common date 62s and they aren't quite as marked up as the obverse as this one though. Not only the marks in the field, but all over Liberty herself. Look like someone gave her a whippin

  the rest of the coin looks quite nice but

  62, but that's based on the pics. I don't have it in hand and I'm nowhere near as qualified and experienced as the guys that gave it a 63.
