It's not gold, but it's my new purchase from Tom Reynolds. I was going to go back and do some horse trading for a 2nd coin, but I ran out of time and he ran off to the auction. Maybe in Feb....

WOW, that's one clean looking 1838.
The strike is outstanding and the color is a rich brown with some underlying mint red luster.

If it goes through the slabbing process, I imagine it will grade around 64RB.
