    Already got my parade reservations.

Anyone really think the Rays or the Red Sox could beat the Phillies the way the Phillies are playing right now - clutch hitting, clutch pitching, clutch fielding, clutch everything.

It might not be too early to have a Phillies make the World Series thread, but don't you think the Sox or the Rays have a slight, little shot at the Phillies? I don't see the winner of the ALCS showing up to the World Series and giving the series away

Come on Steve, relax and take a deep breathe and exhale nice and slow. I think this post season is wiping out your brain cells. lol

I agree. The Rays look youthful and tough while the Red Sox are the reigning champs. Either way, it's gonna be a great WS

Phillies - We're going all the way...no question about it.
  • Options
As I have said all along. Philadelphia is "Clutch City" this year lead by Ryan Howard who came up with 3 hits in the clincher.

    Go Phils!!!!

Sorry, there is no way we are going home with out finger jewelry this year. This team has hit its stride. Tampa has a nice lineup and our
pitching will be tested, but I don't think their pitching can tame our line up. Man it feels good.

Rays will be tough, no doubt about it - Phillies won't have a walk in the park like they just did. Should be an excellent series.

If Hamels keeps his current form, although the Rays are playing excellent baseball, I would have to believe the Phils will be very tough to beat in this series.

Prediction: Cole Hamels will be a "household name" after this series.

I'm not a superstitious guy, and I don't believe in jinxes because my astrology charts and crystal ball told me so.

Well...when is the junior circuit gonna finally produce a World Series participant. We're waiting patiently.
  • Options
    stevekstevek Posts: 32,484 ✭✭✭✭✭
I'm getting a little tired of waiting for the junior circuit to get its act together and enter a team in the World Series, that the Phillies will beat no matter which team it is anyway. So quit stalling. Either select a team or forfeit. Enough is enough.

Remember what happened to the Tigers when they had to wait a few years ago?

I have a feeling this AL playoff is gonna go to a 7th game, then extra innings, and then the game will never finish, it will go on for infinity just so either team won't ever have to face the Phillies.

Neither the Rays nor the Red Sox have the killer instinct. I mean, they are just puttering around...no you please...no you please..no you please.

Phils will be ready pound. Does anyone have a place I can stay at for the parade...or at least a cardboard box and some chunky soup?

Hey Red Sox, I got a warning for ya...this stuff you're pulling on the Rays - Don't try any of that comeback stuff against the Phillies - it won't work.

So who would you guys rather play ? Or, it doesn't matter because you're going to pound either one of these pathetic AL teams image
  • Options

I would think it's best to play the younger team with no post season experience that is prone to make mistakes based on the situation.

That's right, good to see you're learning - some American League team grape, is about to be run over by the Phillies two ton steamroller.

I agree with that, but just to dethrone the champs, and including playing at historic Fenway, I'd like to see the Phillies play the Red Sox.

Being that my home is two hours south of Tampa and hosts Spring Training for the Bosox I'll delight in either scenario.

We have a lot of Boston fans in my area, transplants and bandwagoners from Spring Training and the Rays dismal earlier years.

Having not been home for awhile I'll have to ask my wife about the current fan allegiance around town. I bet that no one has changed over to the Rays yet but if they win we'll see everyone in town sporting their gear.

FYI - for what it's worth the Bosox are currently holding our County hostage to get a newer facility. Sarasota County just north of us made a bid for them to move there. So of course the Bosox made demands in order to stay in Lee County. I say suck it Theo. Go ahead and move. We also have the Twins who make no trouble, and we can get another team if needed.

Did Rays fans forget there's still one more bridge to cross?

Don't worry, the Phillies will soon remind ya. image

The international press has been anxiously awaiting my prediction on the World Series so here it is:

The Phillies are a lock to win this World Series.

    stevekstevek Posts: 32,484 ✭✭✭✭✭
I've changed my prediction from just an ordinary lock...to a STONE COLD MORTAL LOCK based on all the "experts" in this forum picking the Rays.

    Thanks Randy!

It's nice getting that first one under your belt. Kudos to Tampa Bay - it's obvious they are tenacious and have a lot of heart - they tried hard to fight back - No quit in them at all.

Long way to go in this series. Should be some more good games coming up.
