Washington experts come on in

Ok. So last week I bought a set on 1957 BU Washington quarters on eBay. I received the coins today. As I was putting the coins in my Dansco, I had to pull out a 1957 P that I already had in the book as a Filler. The coin that was already in the book did not have a mint mark on the back. The 2 coins the seller sent me both had D's on the back. So I e-mailed him telling him that he sent me 2 D's. I have not heard back from him yet. But the more I look at the pics he provided on his auction--it looks like one coin has a D and one has a P. I am confused. I thought the P mint did not have a mark and was blank. any help would be great. I hope I explained myself. thanks

An auction link would be helpful so we know what you are referring to.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!
  • Well I was trying not to use a auction number in case the seller was a member here. I figured somebody would know if Philiadelphia 1957 quarters had a P or not. But here is the auction number. I don't know how to do a link. Sorry. 140270419851

I wouldn't buy from him just because he only does feedback after the buyer does feedback.

To answer your question though, both are actually D's, but one of them appears to have an extra die chip.
