Saw this auction on eBay and it looks like a proof to me, but he is selling it as uncric.

What looks proof on it to you?

I see a coin with wear, not an UNC. Not a proof.

Darkish spots in the fields look like bad photography to me. If it is a proof, it is highly abused!

To me it looked like a proof because of the frosty devices and it looks like the fields are "clouded" and could be mirrored under the wear/junk. There is a cleaner spot toward the bottom on the reverse and that area looks mirrored. I'm not bidding or buying either way, just curious.

  • Interesting, but no Mexican Proof coins supposedly exist before 1982 (according to Krause).

  • It looks like it is artificially frosted.
