They're a potent reminder to me of the events of that day. I was immediately activated and spent 1 year on active duty. My wife went into premature labor that evening and had to stay in bed until Dec. 14th, 2001.
Those that don't like them don't have to. They're no more blood money than the I-beam cross or any other remembrance.
I'm sorry, but they cannot all be number 1 of the series. It sounds like a serial number.
Of course that is part of the scam. All they mean is that the coin you see is one coin. Although it looks like a serial number, it is not. They all say '1 of <number>'.
I don't think that any numbers are trustworthy on this one. Including the asking price.
a. the attack took place months earlier; or
b. if the lawsuit by the Government against coin dealer Stephen Fenton over the alleged "Farouk" 1933 Double Eagle had been set for trial not in 2-2001 but instead had been set for trial in mid 2001
the 1933 Double Eagle would have never sold for over $7.5 million dollars because it would have been damaged, if not lost forever, when the towers fell.
The 1933 Double Eagle was stored at the World Trade center from shortly after the time the Secret Service seized it in 1996 during the "sting" at the Waldorf Astoria until mid 2001, when, after the settlement between the government and Fenton, the coin was transferred to Fort Knox.
