Anything to see in Toledo Ohio? How about along the NYS Thruway?

Leaving Wednesday on a trip to Toledo, well, actually, Maumee, Ohio for a big model car show. I'm wondering if there's anything coin-ey to stop and see. I am likely not going to have a lot of money-and that would be 100% likely-but I am bringing some stuff to sell at the show and if it all sells I should have about $250 more then I did going out, so maybe on the way home I could stop if there's anything to check out. (If not, this will allow me to have some fun at CoinFest in November) I don't have a lot of time on the trip either, so it would have to be pretty close to the Thruway if it's along that route, but I'll have more time in Maumee when I am out there-I'll have at least two days free. I don't go up into the city proper too much though, about the farthest in I go is Airport Highway and places off that.

Also going to stop in Batavia NY and visit the Jello Museum image I wonder if they have coins made of Jello?

Thanks!

There is a coin shop in LeRoy, NY which is right next to Batavia. It's on Rte 19 but I can't think on the name right now. I'll try to find out.

Toledo Coin Exchange is about 15 minutes from Maumee. Worth the trip if you have time.
The Toledo Museum of Art is well worth your time.

The only thing I would expect to see along that stretch of road are chuckholes and construction zones.

The Toledo zoo is a good stop, also watch out for the speed traps, that's all they do in OHIO is stop speeders. On our yearly drive from Michigan to Florida, we see maybe 50 cop cars, 49 are in OHIO...

The Jello Museum is in Leroy,N.Y. which is about three miles off Exit 47 of I-90. John Cooper has a shop practically next door to the museum. Great guy, and occassionally has some really neat items. You might also want to try Central N.Y. Gold & Silver Exchange in Liverpool,N.Y.(Syracuse). It's 1 mile from exit 37 of I-90. In Buffalo, G.D.K. Coins would be the easiest to access from I-90. In Rochester, you could visit me(Brighton Tokens & Coins, about 5 miles from exit 46 0f I-90).image

Thanks for the info guys! I am not sure what will happen this year but I do this trip every October so even if I can't get there this year I will be sure to try for next year. If I see the one by the Jello Museum and it's open still I am sure I'll take a quick trip in and see what I can see image

I wrote down the info about the ones listed and will put that into my permanent files so I will be prepared for next year even if not this year. Of cource for this trip it'll be in my wallet just in case image

I've actually been to the Toledo Zoo two times now, lots of fun to go there. My favorite is the Aquarium.
