A 1958 Proof is somewhat RARE, A CAMEO even tougher
As most know it is extremely easy to inadvertantly get very light
lines on a Proof, simply by mishandling when photographing.
Given so, seeing what 1958 CAMEO are worth, I wonder if it would be
worth having certified knowing it will grade somewhat lower than
hoped for? How much will these friction marks lower the grade?
They are hardly noticable yet visible under magnification ONLY!
The very light lines are NOT from improper cleaning, that's for sure.
What do you think?

Mishandling when photographing. My biggest fear. I've done it once. I hope I never do it again.
I cannot tell a grade on these even with good pictures. But I would tend to say you would need a rarer coin in the first place to make it worthwhile.
definitely not what I am referring to. You really cannot see them easily, at all.
They are very few, extremely light - more of a slight nuisance than anything else.
Just enough to knock the technical grade down a bit. Hope this quick take helps.
If not, I can try again later today.
listed in some store with a BIN close to $300.
That's what REALLY got my attention and taking a closer look.

Unfortunately, I do not see any completed listings for 1958 proof cameo certified quarters.
I was basing my suggestions off of the prices I saw on the numismedia and PCGS website price guides.
I cannot see the lines you are talking about. Hopefully they are not a series of closely set parallel lines. I hate those.
I managed to put one to a proof kennedy half dollar the other day. That first scratch really sucks!
Think I'll call it a night now!
Till later.
