Regrade option at PCGS

Hi all-I have a higher grade proof indian cent that has a designator of RB but in my eyes and several dealers is only a BN. Would the regrade option be the best way to get the coin in a holder it deserves? Is it true that PCGS won't downgrade it to brown? Would I get any money out of them..haha Thanks

if it downgrades to BN they should pay you the market difference (it should be noted that the PCGS online price guide is NOT used in determining this price difference)

How do they figure the price difference then???

purely subjective (but to their credit, i have heard they are fair)
>>if it gets kicked down to BN do they buy it for what it is....give you the difference and send you back the coin?>>
again, it's their call but i usually hear of the latter happening (return of your coin + some $$$) for the record, there is a third option you didnt list which would be to send you a <different coin> same year/mm that already resides in and RB holder and is truly RB (this doesnt happen alot as PCGS does not keep an inventory of coins on hand)
>>Why would you want to downgrade a coin?>>
so that it is accurately graded......this helps to maintain confidence in TPGs when "bad coins" are taken off the market
