Pujols Bowman Chrome Auto Rookie Prices

It appears some how my thread was deleted that tracked the prices of Pujols BOWMAN CHROME AUTO?

I have some of the prices saved somewhere, if I can find them, but for now I will post the recent sale.

Will edit this post when I find the data. If anyone else saved the info, please let me know.

I'll probably pick up the 2001 SP Authentic PSA 9 and 2001 Bowman Chrome Auto PSA 9 in a few months.

    Alright that's it!
Either money is no object to that buyer or they are mentally insane.

I can't believe the stuff i'm hearing surrounding this pujols card.

Do they realize what alternatives they have in the hobby world with that money?!!!!

I will be cheering for all those who spent over $500 on a Pujol's card when that magic day happens...."Pujols linked to HGH"

It'll be like the day WAMU stocks went from $80 to 0.40 cents. Classic.

Can anyone post any numbers of what Bonds rookie cards did pre and post HGG scandal?

The Pujols card will suffer the same fate as the other "overpriced" cards of the day. Right now, Pujols RC is that high because of a feeding frenzy. Similar to the 89 UD Griffey, the 87 Fleer Bonds, the 84 Donruss Mattingly and even the 80 Henderson.

It would not surprise me to see this card fall to high triple digits withn a few years
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

It's like when I was 11 years old and would've given my left kidney for a '87 fleer Will Clark in mint condition.

What was I thinking?....I could buy em for .99 cents now =O

Complete waste of money that Pujols is...

What a bargain. Pujols is the greatest player of all time in any professional sport. It's guaranteed to go up in value. Buy it while you can! image

BUT the ONLY thing is cards today are NUMBERED, that is why they go SO high.

In my opinion, there are a couple of things that stand out that makes this card different from those examples from the 80s. Number one, this card is autographed which makes it much more desirable. Number two, it was vastly short printed making it very scarce. How many 89 UD Griffey's and 87 Fleer Bonds' are their? Literally multiple thousands. Having said that, they value may or may not drop in value. I think it all depends on what Pujols does on the field. However, there is no way this card dips below $50 like those examples. Those cards were overpriced because they were overproduced. If their were less than 1,000 UD Griffeys, the price would be out of sight.

I wish they would start coming down, I would like to buy either the Bowman Chrome or SPX sometime soon.
  • In my own defense, since I bought the 2001 Bowman Chrome Autograph Refractor PSA 10 in question, I assure you that I am not insane, and I also try not to just throw away money. We are all passionate about buying memories and good sentiment captured in photographs printed on cardboard. This is true whether it is this Pujols rookie or any other card, pre-war or modern, for that matter.

Is it a good investment? Maybe or maybe not -- time will tell -- but it is an important card for any Pujols collector. And I would point that any even a Ruth or Mantle rookie or any piece of fine art or evening holding cash dollars is all just an expression of confidence in that particular investment to hold value over time.
