Pencil eraser cleaning

It's just that one spot, and usually a harsh cleaning is across the whole coin but also looks odd for die polish.
Opinions please.

Cleaning. Die polish lines should not affect the color or luster of the coin.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Kinda Sad! Really should have left it alone. Still a nice coin.

Yup. Probably with a pencil erasor.

I agree with others; some kind of abrasive cleaning in that area.
Fortunately, it is a common date, but hopefully, not an expensive purchase.

Thanks guys. Didn't think about the pencil eraser spot cleaning. I'm gonna change the title to reflect that for others who may be curious about what it looks like.

That's exactly what I would do! Very cool!

I have a buddy in Santiago de Chile that carries a 1923 dollar in his wallet. Has since he was a young man (he's 55 now). Pulls it out every chance he gets to show it to a visiting American. Very fun for him.

    Cheers,

Good example of an eraser job, unfortunately.

it's erasered, but does'nt look like cleaning particularly. just someone idly doing that.
