Does the USPS have a "better" tracking system than the one online?

Am worried about a simple Express mail envelope that went from the north side of chicago to downtown chicago. Didn't make it overnight as was quoted by the postal employee who processed it at my PO. Tracking simply says "processed".
If I go to my local PO this morning, will they have better tracking information - like FedEx ("on truck for delivery" or something)? Or is the online as good as it gets?
It is truly time sensitive as it contains some tickets.

Try the PO, it can't hurt. The blue insurance forms can't be tracked anywhere except the PO, they do store more info than you can access. Good luck, hopefully all is OK.
I should add that is was shipped to a good hotel - definitely always somebody on duty to sign for deliveries.

Sounds like the PO probably did their job, you are probably waiting on the hotel staff and the customer's efforts now. Good luck!
Here is what I get:
<< <i>Status: Processed
Your item was processed and left our CHICAGO, IL 60680 facility on September 29, 2008. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later. >>

I still have some PSA orders from a couple years ago that read this way, even though they were signed for. They are not always through when scanning etc.
Try the buyer, then the PO. Someone should have an answer.
