    Right on!

    I Second that! image

Edited to say that I didn't have to "enter" anything.

It blocked those 3 by default!

that's cool, I wonder why it didn't on my system, I added them one at a time and slowly watched that top banner get smaller and lighter
  • Please tell me where to find adblock in Firefox. I don't see it in Preferences or tools...

Went thru all of that but it put it in as an extension and isn't working. How to get it to a plug in?

Why the obsession with removing ads? (not just this thread but many).

You like to buy coins, you like free forums and those must be supported by ads. I am/have been a member of dozens of forums on subjects from motorcycling to astronomy to metalworking. I am still a mod on many of these. They are all supported by advertising. I can ignore the ads I want but I have bought things from ads like this too and been very happy.

make sure you restart the firefox program... it worked like a charm for me.

must be? i don't think so. the dudes sponsoring the forum already get advertising, so why not dedicate some revenues to it's support?

the real issue here for pcgs is whether they are looking for more avenues to make $$$. if they are, that implies they ain't making enough from slabing, & if that's the case, they are in a world of sh#t!

i've bought alot of things from places that DO NOT have stupid banner ads, & have been very happy.

My guess is it has to do with these particular Google ads. I didn't see this much interest in ad blocking when the initial banner ads were introduced (up in the blue bar area). In fact, many posts supported those ads. For some reason the Google ads are causing more concern than the other ones.

For my own part, the Google ads much more distracting than on other forums because they are right next to the forum and thread navigation links.

Apparently its necessary to add the <<pagead2.googlesyndication.com>> along with the 3 URLs suggested by Lanlord.

I'm using an older version of IE and it won't delete the ads.

When they inserted the ads, it pushed the right side of the threads where the authors are listed to go off screen. I have to use the scroll bar at the bottom of the page to move the margin over to see the authors names. Any suggestions on fixing that?

    Thanks.

  • Or just right click on the banner ads and select "Adblock Image" .....and poof.....it's gone.

    Yeah, upgrade.
I checked it out in IE6 and it doesn't block them. IE7 does and I have sent a few folks the link to that upgrade.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Adblock is a great tool. It's more than fine if they want to put those ads up there. I prefer to remove them, they kind of give me the same feeling as telemarketing.
