  Lack of tons of scratches, on the holder, tells me that likely hasn't had too many owners since it was slabbed and was put away and treasured.

  I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  I'd like to see your pictures of that, Shane. I had it on my watch list, but thought the pictures were a bit juiced and didn't want to take the gamble. I hope it pays off for you. But not as much as that time you passed on the MS66* morgan that I bought

  i was watching that one, too......while i agree that the photos look a bit messed with, it still looks like it'll be a really nice one in-hand....certainly less of a gamble with the 81-S since you're bound to get a lot of luster to make the colors pop....

  I think the images are a little juiced but I bet it looks every bit as good in hand......it can be a real bear capturing the full extent of the color on a very lusterous or semi-PL coin....which is typically what you find with the 1879-1882 'S' mint coins.

  wow the coin arrived today and this coin is about as neon on top of semi-PL surfaces as any coin I have owned.....I am blown away with this coin in hand and that is a rarity indeed for me....

  Nice looker, again but I would think that they did juice the photos a little, or really blasted the light.
  The colors look almost the same but there is a tinge kind of difference.

  Wow, with a coin like that who cares about the slab? I think Shane was just including that this was the first great Morgan toner in a gen. 2 holder he has owned. I like the PL rev. to boot!

  Very nice, I don't think that coin missed 65 by much. Even without the toning it's a PQ 64.

  I do like old holders but if the coin was a dog then the holder means squat.....on the rare occasion I find an amazing coin in a old holder....well that's cause to celebrate.
  
  I agree with the PQ64....if I saw it in a 65 holder I wouldn't argue....
