is there a hairline crease anywhere? If there are no other flaws besides the cut and corner wear, I can see Beckett saying that's a 6.5 - it looks like a bunch of older 6.5's that I have from them. What do you think PSA saw that had it as a 4?

Have no clue how PSA gave that card a 4. Absolutely NO creases or corner flaws. Few smudges on the back--but that front's a blazer huh!!!
Cracked out the PSA 4 Mickey and sent it to beckett with a slabbed PSA 4 Spahn from same set (had a dent in it) that they busted back to a 3.5!! Go figure but I'll make that swap every time!!
<< <i>Not sure if PSA would ever give a card a qualifier because of a back anyway. Unless of course it was truly miscut. >>
It should have to be truly miscut to get a lower grade or a qual, (see scans) that's what puzzles me about the PSA grade on the OP's card. The only thing I can think is that they gave it a lower grade because they thought the back was too far OC or MC. If this is the case, I think they should have given it a Qual.
PSA has been killing my 77 OPC for their backs.

here's what a bad back looks like:

Here's a 7(OC)! wouldn't trade my former 4 for this 7!!

I have seen a 1973 Schmidt that had a 50/50 front but was graded PSA 9 MC because of the reverse centering.
Unless of course it was truly miscut.
