Target-Toned, Scarce Die Remarriage Half Dime

1832 LM-8.5, photos by mgoodm3. There is a very fine die crack from the top of the second A in AMERICA that goes to the dentils...this die crack confirms this as the scarce 1832 LM-8.5 die remarriage.

<< <i>just a lovely coin. that would fit in my Denomination Type Set very easily!! >>
One for me too, please
Very nice coin. They look SOOOOO good blown up like that, but when I go to buy one I need to break out the 14X glass to even tell what date it is!

Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
Just to be a pooper...I'm not a huge fan of the toning but would definitely be able to overlook it

<< <i>Super hard re-marriage to locate. The die marriage is not rare in the least but many don't realize that this re-marriage is so rare. Is yours the finest or at least nearly finest for the 8.5?

this coin was not in the latest census, where an NGC MS-61 was the finest. This one has that one beat by a point (and by far in eye appeal)
<< <i>Ok- I'll trade the VG-08 for that one.

Nice! I thought it might be a candidate for Queen of the re-marriage
The strike is also very, very strong, thus very appealing to look at.
No doubt it's an MS coin, as you said, and deservedly the Top Pop in the CC.
Very nice once again BD

<< <i>I'm intrigued by what appears to be a depression on obverse between star #4 and the dentils. Please identify this feature. >>
looks like a void in the planchet or a very old (and "clean") scrape

It appears to be post mint...isn't the metal pushed up a bit? But, placement is near optimal. Simply a gorgeous coin!
Who gets to keep the coins?
Very nice toning.
