Looking for a few good coin shops in Houston and any Houston coin shows between Sept 23 and Sept 28?

image look I had a ruff day- and if the canucks don't see the tele- then obviously he can do a search on the net to see who is actually OPEN and not FLOODED out.

Wow, you are coming to H-town at a bad time. Literally, half of the city is without power. And the half that does is overwhelmed by demand. It has been tough to navigate with many of the traffic signals out.

    No shows.

The two coin shops I frequent, US Coins 8435 Katy Freeway and HNE 2486 Times (Rice Village) may have power by the time of your visit.

The IKE issue is why, given that I need to visit Austin for a day and there are no direct flights for me, have routed myself through San Jose there and Dallas on the way back. Normally, would have gone through Houston and likely visited another partner there.

    Ha Ha...very funny.

Seriously though, I'm asking on behalf of a friend who's going there next week.

We actually received a very in depth coverage of Hurricane Ike and its damage to Houston. Unfortunately with most hurricane coverage, once the storm passes, so does the news coverage. We don't hear much of the recovery process (in Houston).

I was hoping that most businesses would be back to normal next week, but it seems I'm quite mistaken.

LOL- I can relate! We lost power after Gustav for a long time- I got so sick of every traffic light being a 4-way stop that I pretty much just quit driving!

After Houston gets back on its two feet, I would recommend Houston Numismatic down in Rice Village, they have nice stuff.

I think next week will still be tough. I just got back from Shanghai Thursday night and parts of town are still off line, about 1/2 still without power. I ws able to find bread this morning, although none of the gas stations has gas yet in our part of the 'burbs. We got power back Monday according to my wife, but two blocks away still no sign of them coming back.

I did find a couple of guys to start working today so hope to have all our repairs finished this weekend, nothing major mind you, we got off light.
