Who says the market is weak?

NOT ME. We just brokered a deal which involved 35 bags (that's $35K face) of 90%. And the owner has held it since before the 1980 bull market. image

Ugh!!! Sounds like an estate settlement or someone has thrown in the towel after 30 years.

Not so. The owner got tired of paying vault storage. The proceeds have entered your field.

How does melt value for silver equate to the market being strong or not? Or, was this not bought around melt value?

I perceive the coin market to be strong, or weak, based on how coins sell as individuals, for numismatic values....not as melt value coins.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

You have to be STRONG to sell that much in 90% silver coins and even STRONGER to carry that much in silver coins and put them into storage.

    Ugh!

The info you provided says nothing about the strength of the market. Now tell us how much you paid for the coins and what they were; that would say a lot.

Intresting story and awsome transaction considering the volume amount of 90%, but this has nothing to do with the coin market. 90% will always trade regardless of the volume at current market (silver price)

if you have to pay to store the silver any rise in value will be eaten up by fees. closet? attic? basement? if this is not enough room you should be investing in something else? if it costs more than a SDB is it worth it?

and we still want to know what you got and what you paid AND WE NEED PICSimage

i just reread your OP and first thing is NOT ME

    whats up with that???

  • If it was Morgans, why didn't you let us VAMers know, probably could have gotten a little premium for coins stored for that long. I'm still interested in a few bags if thats the case.

I think there's a big difference between the coin market and the precious metals market, and one should define which they are talking about when using only the term "market".

Most of the material I deal in is definitely not weak. However you all should be very careful with Saints. Could be a train wreck about to happen.

You know i was mentioning this thread to a freind yesterday, and we figured that by this guy not selling th week of March 17 high at 20.50, he missed out on well over a 1ook more in profit??

One more thing, there is a local guy here that it is the same boat. Not quite that much but has about 15 bags. He was one of the big PM bulls waiting for the 25.00 mark that never came and is now sweatin"'''

Now try to sell a oz of silver on ebay, pay fees and then pay paypal fees and see what your margin of profit will be.image

the only question left is why DIDN'T this guy sell when silver was at $20 bucks an ounce in February? image

EDITED TO ADD: I guess after realizing his silver was worth about $70,000 less than it was 6 months ago, he decided to get out!
