I guy did that to me on an eBay transaction. My only advice to you is that no matter what he/she tells you treat it as fraud until you actually get your money back.

That's the beauty of Paypal. You can get your money back. It just may take several weeks image

I don't care if it takes several weeks to get my money back, I JUST WANT IT BACK image

I have a balance of like $10 left in there and it is extremely inconvenient when I think I have money there and it's not there imageimageimage

Should I start a dispute via eBay? Contact USPS?

  • Yeah, PayPal sucks. A couple weeks ago my account was frozen because of "suspicious activity" relating to an eBay purchase. PayPal told me they wanted to make sure the item would be delivered. $350 was sitting there and I couldn't touch it until USPS tracking showed the package as delivered 4 days later.

When it says held, does it mean I 'WILL' get it back? Or is it saying, 'say goodbye to your money?'

I don't think you can keep that package from being delivered now. File the eBay dispute right now. Like I said, don't be gullible like me and let a scam artist convince you that something "went wrong with his/her bank" or something.

If this person had a legitimate thing happen that caused to reversal, they will surely understand that you have to protect yourself.

It usually means "Say goodbye to your money." image
  • An Unpaid Item reminder cannot be sent for this transaction yet.

You cannot report an Unpaid Item dispute for this item until after Sep-23-2008.

WTF, it's not helping at all.

    PayPal, ain't it great?

Had a buyer sign for a damaged package. Buyer said package was empty. Buyer opens dispute under item not as described. Pay Pal returns buyers money, seller screwed!

  • Is there a way to get USPS to hold the package?

I have signature confirmation on the package to that person...

Never leave money in PayPal, withdraw as soon as possible.

Well, that's too bad for me... I'm out the money then...

Maybe I should send the buyer an e-mail.

  • Well, I don't know what I could do now...
    Contacted the buyer also...
Knowing my luck, it'll turn out badly. image

    Thanks for the replies.

The buyer may not even be aware that Paypal is doing this. Sometimes they flag an account for suspicios activty to investigate. It may just mean that the buyer made other, large purchases that are out of the norm. I would send a polite e-mail to the buyer asking if they know what is going on. You will almost certainly get your money back, probably within the week.

    Yes,

Go talk to you local post master, track where it currently is, talk to that post office and have them hold it.

I know several folks who were successful doing this.

I think this is good advice, first try the post master so it might get stopped before delivery. Then call paypal. If your PO is closed call paypal now and visit the PO fist thing in the morning.

In the end you probably will get it back but stopping the delivery will save the worry.

    Good luck image
