Mineral oil on red copper

Will using mineral oil on red Lincoln's make them turn brown? I have a few crusties that have a little red left and do not wish to lose what I do have, but need to get rid of crusties that ar on them. I also have a 1983 d DD that had brasso used on it. Wanted to shoot the seller, but I think after a year of soaking in acetone and other coppers that the look has returned. Wish I had pictures but I don't have a macro lense yet and I have not gotten very good picture results with my stock DSLR lense. Thanks for your input.

Not sure how much it helped, but it didn't hurt.
