I just found out this afternoon that i am a type 1 diabetic . I was diagnosed about 2 months ago with diabetes but it was thought i was type 2. My endocronologist had me get some more blood work done recently and she called me today to tell me it looks like im type 1 . I have an appointment Monday and she's going to show me how to do the insulin injections.
In a way im sort of glad im type 1 because now i should be able to eat more and put on the weight i have lost in the past 2 months. ( I have lost over 15 pounds in that time which is alot for me because i was only 185-190 to begin with. Im 6'1 )
Im really thankful to have the greatest wife , who happens to be a RN so she has been taking care of me the last 2 months
If there are any diabetics on the boards , particully Type 1's i'd really like to hear from them. About the insulin injections , diet ect.
thanks
Dave

Dave, I think you need to start your Emmitt registry back up.
Here are some reasons why.
Since I started my Emmitt set:
I have never been sick and germs run from me!
I gained 25 lbs of pure muscle without lifting a single weight!
I grew some hair that I though was gone for good!
I can't leave the house without women chasing me, trying to rip the clothes from my finely chiseled Physique!
PSA grades my cards for free!
I get free gas when I flash an Emmitt card at the pump!
There is more but Tonya and I are going out for dinner .

Is your thyroid disease Grave's or Kashimoto's? Those autoimmune diseases go hand and hand with things like type 1. My girlfriend has Grave's and as I said isCeliac...lucky enough to not have type 1 yet...hopefully never. Do you have any digestive issues?
Ross
Ross, i was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism about 10 years ago . Just take a pill in the morning and im good . No digestive issues
Hope all goes well with your girlfriend btw
my best wishes and positive energy to anyone who is ailing.
long live cool.
cheers
You and Tonya are ALWAYS going out for dinner, Matt!
My wife just made me Ramen Noodles with Spam chunks.
Mmmmmmmmmmm,
Sounds like you have a terrific support network. Wish you all the best.

I know man. Good thing I have a nice physical job or I would be 300lbs
*Not that there is anything wrong with being 300lbs.
