Does anyone do a VINTAGE BBCE rip?

I was reading the forum on the modern pack rip that had recently happened. That sounded like something I would be very interested in, except I like vintage cards instead of moderns. Does anyone do a vintage pack rip on here??

I think for the most part, the members here rip whatever we can afford to rip.

At least that's the way it works for me.

The oldest thing I've ripped is 72 OPC.

  • I would be glad to do a group rip for some older stuff. The only problem is that it would take a little longer to sell out. BTW, BBCE is the only reason I would not want to win the lottery. I would be broke after buying all the old vintage wax and racks.

What do you mean by vintage in this case? The last group rip started its run with 77OPC and included all Topps from 78 to 85. Fleer and Donruss were also included from 81-85.
Looking at the BBCE website, the only baseball boxes older are 75 Topps minis. Basketball is 74/75 and football is 68 Topps and 70 Topps.

Finding vintage boxes older seems to be a tall order.

If your looking for 60s stuff you could buy some graded packs and open them. That way you can adjust the number of packs to what years people prefer and how much money people want to spend.

I'm in for any vintage rip. Make that I'm in for any rip older than the 80's.

  • 1981 is $1.50 per pack

1975 is $50 to $70. Prices keep going up from there. It would be pretty tought to find many people to pay that sort of money and then rip knowing they are likely to end up with $5 worth of cards

Actually 1975 Topps hockey is $25, OPC is $55 and it goes up from there. Anything from the 60s will be over $200

1958 is only $8. Someone should try that for a vintage rip

I was in on the 1975 "case break" but that was a disaster, LOL!

  • I am working on trying to set up a vintage pack group myself. I run a boxbreaking group for team collectors where we bust modern wax and divide it up as team collectors get every card pulled from their team. The vintage group I am trying to set up would not be for everyone as it would be a monthly break where we pool funds to buy PSA graded wax from the 60's and I would open on Youtube. Rather than award the cards based on team ownership, each person would own a card position establishedbefore the pack is opened. For example if we have 3 packs with a total of 30 cards, each of the 10 people involved would get 3 cards and the spots would be randomly assigned but also guranteed not to be the 1st or last card in any pack more than once per break. You'd get card #2, 16, and 30 for example. You'd know which slots before the case is cracked and the pack opened and would be included in the Youtuve video as each card is revealed.

Again, I know this won't be for many as you would have to be trusting but I have run monthly breaks in each sport for quite awhile now and have alot of repeat customers. If you need a testimonial take a look at the thread of a break I did last night...

    Last Nights Break

The cost would be quite high for just a couple or 3 cards but the potential of cards literally right out of the pack as far as condition not to mention the stars possible, it may just be worth it. The products would only be purchased from reputable sellers and would PSA (not GAI) graded.

    I know it's a longshot but I thought getting my other break groups would be a longshot too until I tried it. So if you have interest let me know. Personally I have interest in all 4 sports for busting vintage so I'm up for anything! If you want to see my website of group breaks...take a look;

  • Count me out on a vintage rip. I will just buy the cards I want from those sets without taking a multiple hundred dollar risk to maybe find a mint Don Mossi.
