Interesting haul from CoinStar machine today...

I got pretty excited when I saw the reject chute brimming with coins at the Jewel-Osco today!

Alas, no silver, but :

97c US (non seemed bent or thin- hard to say why they got rejected.)

Great Britain:
4 One pound
6 20 pence
3 5 pence
2 pennies

1 Euro Ireland

$1 Mexico

4 canada 25c

1 PGA Tour- Partners Club Life Member one sided token.

Even w/o any silver, this is my best find so far.image

I'm surprised that coin star does not keep it an an internal misc. bin. They could really make some money by exchanging this kind of stuff for U.S. dough.

Nice find, I have never found anything at the coinstar by us.

That would be stealing, would it not? Only the fed can steal from us with impunity.

Coinstar is making 8% already. The coins that are rejected are rejects.

  • Nice! I've never seen anything in the reject chute. It's about as fruitful as checking the coin return of payphones years ago. Hey, I never did that - I'm just saying...

Doubt it. The pre-euro coinage is worthless. Can't be redeemed anywhere, except with a collector of foreign modern crap.

There aren't many collectors yet but the uncirculated pre-euro moderns are going through the roof.

While these are all current, a lot of the pre-euro crap can still be redeemed anyway. Even East Ger-
man coins are redeemable at par with the old German Mark.

Not true. Many of the countries that switched to Euro still redeem Legacy Currencies at the fixed price to the Euro - for Euros, set at time of conversion.
