Is this something I should try consigning to an auction house?
Think this is worthy of an auction house? I posted before about these tickets and had little response. So I listed one on ebay and got about $14 for one and second chanced one for $13. I listed another and got $4.50 this time. Not sure what the market is on them, but that is what those brought and that is with out having any info on the fight or anything, though it is not likely to have been any big names.
The reason I ask about an auction house is because I have a big block of these with every ticket #1-216 / #290-295/ #301-400. Would the fact that there are so many together make it a possible draw? I don't think these will get any massive money, but it seems like an unusual thing given the size of the lot. Any input is appreciated.

The Boxing ticket is a full unripped ticket. American Legion Auditorium for a Boxing Match and it says Colored Benefit Ticket and has the line to be ripped at the stub. The cost is $1.25. It is not dated but I am certain it is 1948 judging by the items found with it and the date/day matches up for 48.
I also have about 200 of these 1948 basketball tickets.
The Basketball ticket is a 1948 Mid-Atlantic Basketball tournament at American Legion Auditorium and you got all 4 games for $1.50

I think $5-15 is about right for those tickets unless you can find that some famous boxer participated. The Bk-ball one might be interesting if it is from THE first Mid-Atlantic tourney. Again, check and see if any famous players participated. If you live in the area the event took place a little time spent at the local main library searching newspaper archives should get you the information you need. If you don't live in the same area, then contact the library where the event took place and see if a librarian will help you out. Librarians live for that kind of research.

Interesting tickets. The fight tick is generic - we don't know who fought - so my guess is similar to others; not tons of interest - the name(s) would have to be on the tick to be of value IMO.
Now - this does have cross over hobby value tho - for those who collect items related to African Americans - i.e. - the period of segregation - this includes everything from salt and pepper shakers to trade cards from the turn of the century - not sure what the proper title is on ebay - "africana?"
I sure wish ya luck on selling them - I'm gonna check with some boxing collectors I know.
Thanx for sharing
