How long does it take you to prepare a submission for PCGS?

I've only submitted a few times and I stumble through each time.
I don't like submitting due to how long it takes me plus the cost.

Guess I am just slow

So, how long does it take you to prepare your submissions?

(I have 8 free ones to get in and want to get the quarterly too.....)

Can take a couple hours...selection...prep (acetone)...forms..labels on flips...double check everything...package...ship

Start to Finish. it took almost 2.5 hours. with .5 hours at the PO.

Once I've decided which coins I am sending and actually start the procedure, it takes about 1/2 hr. The post office time varies from 5 minutes to 15 minutes.

1) I decide to submit the coin
2) I go get the coin
3) I pack the coin
4) I print a shipping label
5) I dop it off at the PO.

~15-20 minutes total.

That's also how long it takes me to prepare a submission for Pcgs.

Depends on the size and complexity of the submission order. It usually takes anywhere from 10 minutes to 5 hours.

my submissions come in spurts

i usually send at least 2 or 3 together, modern, regular and a quarterly sp,.

done bulk too but now i`m out of the loop

edit to add: oh yeah, it takes one evening and a couple

This might be a good thread to ask this question re: the quarterly submission.

Can you do crossover any grade with a quarterly freebie?

My one submission (1st) took me about a half hour. One piece.

I have some crossovers, some raw, the quarterly (some are economy, some are modern)......what sucks is I don't have 8 of any of them, so I will have to see about filling....I may be able to, will check it out when I get back from vacation in a couple of weeks (have to do it before 9/30 for the quarterly)

It would help if we could fill in the forms online and print labels like your can with a certain other TPG!

That would probably cut the submission form time in half for me.

Usually takes me a couple hours. Like some others, I usually send submissions in batches. I just sent out my eight free from the certificate and it was set to expire two days after I mailed it. A combination of indecision on the candidates and was planning on putting together a modern submission with it is what took so long. Finally just had to do the free eight, Quarterly, and four free from registry bonus. I'll have to send the Modern submission later.

maybe an hour and a half including driving down the hill to the PO. trying to fill oput the submittal form...i am way too anal about crossing the t's and dotting the i's that i always forget to add up something.

i think submitting sealed anniversary sets (took the longest to put together) but i am pretty nifty now at using the reinforced gummed tape!!

what was a royal PITA was sending stuff back to the US mint....remind me to check my outstanding backorders, Bochiman, it will save me a few hours and $$ frickin' postage and insurance just to get a credit... and be out a couple hundred....not fun at all.

better yet i'll give you my login info and credit card...so you can take care of it for me. ...lol

If I combined all activities into one day I would say most of the day.

I put each of them in a acetone rinse for about 30 min each then a dip in a second fresher acetone bath.

Photo'd each coin before it left in case of loss or if something was nagging at me before they returned.

Then theres that horrible paper tape for registered mail. That stuff and I dont get along.

All this took me around a week spread out a few minutes here a few minutes there during the week.

It takes longer to find worthy coins than it does to fill the paperwork out , pack 'em up and ship them out.

it takes me about 30-40 minutes for most any size submission from start to finish. I pull the coins I want to submit (leave them in their capsules), go online to print the submission form, package the box, throw on a label then off to the post office.

someone said they couldn't fill the submission for out online? I think PCGS has been doing this for a few years.

Print labels? Put the coins in order as they are on the submission form, I think the fine people at PCGS can figure that out. I don't think the graders look at the label to try to figure out how to grade the coin anyway.

I still have yet to send in anything I have my slips right here in front of me

But I have a few cases of Molson XXX 7.3% ALC

so it would be 2 coins for every beer ,and all you can drink
