-thank you, i was pretty nice for just getting back from the biggest funeral in idaho burying a 1/7 cav Medal of Honor recipient ive known for 40 years
Who are the premier soccer players that I could put into my HOF signed rookie collection? I know Pele, but beyond that, who are generally regarded as the top 4 of the last 50 years and what is their rookie card?
Brian McBride is an American soccer striker who has appeared in three World Cups for the United States national team and currently plays for the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer.
Before joining Fulham, McBride had previously played in England for Everton in 2002 and Preston North End in 2000. Before that, McBride played for VfL Wolfsburg of the German 2 Bundesliga and the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer, for whom he was a fan favorite.
Lived across the street from my family as a youth...eventhough he was a few years behind me in school - would join in our neighborhood soccer games and we all could see he had telent. My brother and I like to think we taught him something about the game.
anyway...this is his ROOKIE card as far as I know
1997 Upper Deck MLS #9 Brian McBride
I collect Seattle Pilots autographs, 1969 Topps autographs, Signed Mickey Mantle Home Run History cards and have a JC Martin collection (he was my college Baseball coach) Doug
Thanks Rube, I am looking for sets prior to the Pro Set issue. Most of the sets I am looking for were either team, police , or fast food issues. I would appreciate it if you could dig around and see what you have. Thanks!

Was Brian the son of Pat McBride, the former coach of the Kansas City Comets and St.Louis Steamers of the original Major Indoor Soccer League?

I do not believe so...but his mother was single(divorsed) when they lived there. Later she married and they moved and rented the house out for a number of years. I looked into renting it thinking it would be nice to live across from my parents...but luckily did not (aka Raymond Barone - Everyone Loves Raymond)

Try typing NASL soccer cards into Google, there are quite a few hits.
