Ebay to do away with auctions?

Who in the world is going to be able to make money with 15% fees? The scams are only going to get worse.
They also act like that people who accept checks/money orders get stood up far more than people who take Paypal only. Another fabrication. People that pay me with checks or money orders are usually the most reliable customers. That 80 year old coin collector out there who has paid for things with checks all his life isn't going to be around anymore.
God, I wish Ebay would just go away and let someone else take over the market. It CAN be done too with the right money (extreme promotions, no fees for the first year).

eBay is not changing the fee structure for auction format.

When I sell, I only take checks/money orders and I can vouch for one thing - I decide when to ship, and I've never taken a loss because I make sure that the money is there first.
The biggest problems I've had were from people who had ulterior motives and intended to scam me. I weeded them out by insisting on my own terms.
And when I buy, I use feedback and comments to decide whether or not to take a chance on any seller. My success rate is 100% using good judgement with feedback.
I don't bid with sellers who use paypal only - their loss, not mine.
Ebay seems determined to drive out the very customers who made them successful, while protecting the high-volume scammers who misrepresent what they sell.
Eliminating the auction format is designed to accomplish what? They've already made it much easier for shill bidders and "protected identities" to rip off unsuspecting or unsophisticated buyers.
These days, being an ebay buyer is like being the proverbial mushroom - being kept in the dark and fed a bunch of crap!
Let ebay fail - it serves them right.

eBay is NOT eliminating the auction format. In fact, their most recent changes benefit the auction format at the expense of stores and fixed price listings.
