Edit: although I just checked at the mint's web site and they're still available there?

    They are not talking about proofs or W uncs that are intended for collectors, they are talking about bullion coins (smaller premium) sold ONLY to distributors.

    They are not talking about proofs or W uncs that are intended for collectors, they are talking about bullion coins (smaller premium) sold ONLY to distributors.

    I believe APMEX broke this news last week, the article is on their homepage.

    Why did the Mint suspend sales of business strike gold?

    Didn't they also scale down the distribution of 08 bullion ASEs? Local B&Ms here selling singles, no rolls.

    Coin World Online had a bulletin today that said that the Mint had resumed selling bullion gold eagles to distributors, though supplies are still limited.
    We confirmed this with our official Mint distributor. They have some of the new ones on order, and if we wish to buy some they have raised the premium to us from 3.75% over (for quantities) to 4.0% over.
