1964-D Roosie MM's Jeez How many different D's are there ?

I have some 1964-D Dimes and I was just looking at them I guess you'd say. I got out a loupe because some of the D's looked different just with the eyes. There must be a lot of different D MM's. Just in these I think I see at least 3 different MM's and maybe even 4 or 5 but I couldn't get good pics of all of them. Here are 3 that turned out good enough to see (I hope)... NOTE: I just had a realization... I must be a geek image

This first one looks normal I guess you'd say

The next one has a normal looking D but it is MUCH CLOSER to the torch

I guess I was surprised to see variation in the MM's including the location of the MM's. Just thought it was interesting and was wondering if anyone knew how many variations had been identified. It's not all about numbers on plastic slabs is it ? I find coins interesting to look at. Hope that clears it up for ya image

I've asked about this type of stuff before, as I thought I was finding some new items.
I was told that the mint did individual die mintmarks by hand. So, there could be as many mintmark positions as there are dies, since they were done by hand/sight.

I forget when they went to machine done.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Thanks Bochiman. I didn't know the MM's were placed by hand in '64; that would answer a lot.

Don't know about you, but that last looks like a D/S....not D/D

I hadn't notice until you said that but now I see it in the picture... I'll have to relook at it. In hand I can clearly see a RPM D over D but now (at least in the pic) I see what looks like the S off to the right and lower. That would be interesting if it's there in hand. Thanks for bringing it up.
