If all of your collection had to go, what is the one thing that you would want to keep? Post a pictu

What is the one "keeper" in your collection? In other words, if it all had to go but one thing, what would it be that you would keep? "One thing" could include a set. It can be cards or memorabilia. Post a picture of it.

Many of you guys have seen these, but mine would have to be these gloves below. I'm just getting this thread started. I am interested in seeing what you guys would post.

Besides our 52 Mantles .... it would have to be this LS bat which was personally signed and given to us by Mickey Mantle in Cooperstown back in 1993.

I sold off my entire collection a few years back ago when I was laid off...and these 2 were the only ones i kept.

Trevor Hoffman College Card (was a Christmas Gift from a local baseball card store owner)
    image

My favorite player - These were once a $1000 item. Fortunately, I sold off my other high end minors...

Today, the last cards to go would probably be my 80s-90s PSA/DNA rookies - mainly because most of them don't sell for much, but they are a true pleasure to own...and i have upgraded most of them at least 2-3 times each time looking for the nicest, cleanest autos.

  • Same card I always say. You never forget your first FF-

  • Mine would have to be my latest pick up. This is one of only two known examples out there right now and Garret made it into a beautiful piece of art.

This is the last thing in my collection I would sell. I think.

Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason.
Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason.

  • I think for me it would have to be this card

Mine's pretty easy. Back when I was 6 years old my dad took me to a new car dealership promo event. We got there at 5 am and waited in line for 3 hours. Finally the line was moving and we got to go inside.

On the way in we met some guy and he handed us each a bat with his name on it.

I was lucky enough to get in the Orioles locker room after the last home game of the 1988 season and I gathered up the nerve to go up to Cal Ripken Jr. & asked him if I could have the nameplate that hung above his locker. He kind of surprised me when he said he didn't know but he would check & he left for like 2 minutes and came back & said he checked and it was OK......

Very difficult question for me because there are a couple I would have a hard time losing.

The Jones Boys in vintage Braves gear, posing together, on a 16x20..... enough said.

This would have to be second....Carl Crawford autographed, game used bat.

My very first Ripken card. It was given to me by my step-brother back in '85 just before he left for the service. It wasn't in much better condition than this. I keep it in my wallet. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who carries a Ripken rookie card in his wallet. image

(I'm very jealous about the locker room sign by the way!! That's awesome!)

This is the one thing that I wouldn't sell. One of my favorite moments in the hobby. They took a few other poses as well, including Ali putting his fist up to my face, but at that time I wasn't smart enough to purchase them all, only this one. I REALLY wish I had the other ones as well.

That was Notre Dame's 2nd leprechaun back in 06. They have one for football, and also another one that does appearances, some of the other sports, etc. That is from a campus appearance at ND from the Penn State game in 06 when I took my wife up to South Bend for a weekend getaway

Yea , that is a nice pic , too bad about the others.
Do you know if there is any way they may have been kept somewhere , is there someone you might be able to contact to possibly get the others , the one you're talking about with his fists in your face sounds like a great pic .

I tried the studio that took the pictures, they told me they destroyed the negatives. He had a lot of charisma, much more so than other people I have met. George W. Bush, George H. Bush, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Colin Powell, Gingrich, numerous other politicians, Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal, etc., etc., etc. Was the only person that I've basically been kinda awestruck by. Just had an aura about him. I asked him how it felt to be the greatest, and he was moving slow and talking low and bent down to my ear, and said in typical Ali fashion, "It feels good!!"
