    Tom - That's not a date, it's an era. But you're not wrong.

    There is a way to precisely identify the date and mint.

    Well, I'm not so certain that you could pinpoint the date since the Type 2 Proof Reverse appeared on the 1971-S and the 1972-S.
    I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.



    The name is LEE!

    Well, I'm not so certain that you could pinpoint the date since the Type 2 Proof Reverse appeared on the 1971-S and the 1972-S

    1972-S because it matches the other coin in the 72-S Silver PCGS holder "Coin #1"...One is
    a 64 DCAM the other a 65 DCAM.

    In Lee's photo's the top coin is the 1971-S and the bottom is the 1972-S image

    I expected at least 5K!

    These types of errors are very unique and cater to specific deep pocketed collectors. Unlike the 1973-S wich sold recently for around 43K, this one is a legitimate proof error and not a custom made widget.
