I think I finally figured out what I am :(

Collector wise....

I like it all, I admit it. there are cool coins in every avenue... expensive, cheap... early, classic, even modern. liteside, darkside, greyside too!
stuff with holes, stuff that's been clipped, sometimes eletrocuted and shrunk, stuff that suffers from massive die erosion, dies that have been WAY too polished, clips, caps... gold, silver, even clad junk.

I dont think Ill EVER pay huge money for a TPG-approved, conditional-rarity, just because someone in a back room says it's a 65 instead of a 64, or a 70 not a 69, crack it from the slab and it loses all that value... I just like examples, to hold the history. I dont prefer keys, unless it's actually a DIFFERENT coin, type wise.... (but I understand keys are very good going into the future).

I believe I have become: a Type collector.

is there such an animal? are there others suffering like me? how did you get that way? or did you change to/from something else?

(For the record, I dont want to be anything like an infamous "Type Collector". he sounds like a royal knucklehead.)

I guess I just needed to get that off my chest.

I agree. The OP is showing classic signs of becoming a coin geek, though.
