will there be a time when some slabs are worth more then others because they are more original?

ie, if it does'nt have scratches & has never been car waxed, never been cleaned, it's worth more then one that's less "original", hmmmmm?

There are early slabs that are collectable such as the NGC black slabs and the PCGS Regency slabs. Collectors pay a healthy premium for these slabs.

Shouldn't this be a non-issue for you as you should be selling all of your coins so your heirs don't get stuck with them? image

I should probably be a little embarrassed to admit this, but I do have a cameo Franklin half in an older NGC (soap) holder that is flat out in perfect condition (the slab, not so much the coin).

I keep it because of that, but Karl, your point is not lost on me and your point is a valid and good one.

What you are saying is that he should save his shards, regardless?
