The official "What I hate about %$#@^&* EBAY" thread

I'm not sure that someone has already done one of these, but I am so perturbed right now I just have to vent !!
I hate lazy sellers that can't change the listing category and wind up putting their baseball cards in the football listing !! I also can't stand or understand how a seller can be so cheap as to shove two or more vintage cards in one top-loader to ship them without even penny sleeves!!!

In all fairness to Ebay(since they are completely innocent), these sound like problems you have with SELLERS on Ebay.
  • The category thing is not really being lazy, it is very easy to do if you use something like Turbo Lister. Many times you simply copy the privious listing and make changes to the description and picture.
  • Generalization of doing business on ebay pertains to buyers, sellers and ebay as an entity itself. Thus ebay as a whole.

I have never searched eBay by category in over 10 years of using it.

Still sounds lazy to me, and actually dumb on the part of the seller due to those buyers lookin at baseball as a catergory never seeing those cards unless they do a general search for specifics.

I think sometimes sellers forget to "change" the category, then realize it and say the heck with going back and revising...

I do use the category search feature pretty often. (Ex: 1986 fleer - basketball only), and it does kind of get annoying when there are still Barry Bonds Fleer update in there...graded 10 by GEM grading of course.
  • I don't think most buyers use a category search anyway.

When you are doing 50 plus listings and miss one category I think it is just that an error not laziness. Many times when it is realized the item is listed and may have bids at that time it cannot be changed without ending the listing and paying Ebay again for the relist.

  • There are alot of collectors like myself that only buy football or baseball, etc. and doing a search for 1969 topps or 1969 psa in the general search or in sports will net you a bunch of stuff that you're not interested in. So you streamline your results by doing searches by catagory especially when you are looking for several different cards which eliminates doing dozens of specific searches.

At least we are all in agreement on two cards in a top-loader !!!

I hate when all I need to do is turn one square yellow, but right before I get to it a purple ball bounces on my head.
