Will PCGS be at the ANA Baltimore show?

If so, how do you go about having a coin graded there? Are the fees the same as if you mailed the coin(s) in?

Fee's differ quite substancially when you get a coin graded at and during a show.

Now, they are the same if you just submit your coins there and wait for them to arrive back at PCGS, and subsequently wait a month (or more) for them to return.

And, I'm sure PCGS will be at Baltimore. I don't know why they wouldn't be.

Short answer is no, walk though service is about $100.00 per coin IIRC.

Edited to add Show express service is $200.00/coin 2 to 3 hours.

yep, $100 for show service (get it back at the show), $200 for fast service (same day). If submissions don't warrant that kind of expenditure, submitting at a show will get you a savings on your shipping costs to PCGS, some free 2.5" x 2.5" flips, a piece of "penny candy" or two, and maybe a pop report and free blue box of two if you treat the customer service people nicely.

Like the mail in version, there is also the $5 per order fee for show grades.

I asked three different PCGS customer service reps if they were accepting the $14 modern coin grading fee for inexpensive modern coins at the show.

Each one of them said no. They said that the budget coins need to be mailed in and not submitted at the show. I was quite surprised!

Is there a new policy I am not aware of?

The way the question is written could be confusing. The first time I read it, it sounded like "If I drop off an order for the $14 Modern service will you process the coins at the show?"

Then I re-read it and I'm guessing you mean "Can I drop off my Modern submission at the show, to save money on shipping to CA, to be processed back at the office and mailed back to me?"

The answer to version 1 is no.
The answer to version 2 is yes.

The only submissions we will not accept at the show is bulk.

I don't know why they would tell you that you would have to mail it in, unless they all thought it was bulk, I will bring this up to the supervisor in customer service to be sure everyone is on the same page.

I thought they stopped the $5 fee thing.
