What VAMs...

do you see frequently in XF or lower that you rarely see in MS?

The first one off the top of my head would be 1891 O VAM-1A. I've seen them frequently in XF or lower but rarely if ever in AU or higher.
I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.

You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

Many of these are unknown in Mint State, many are just plain rare in any grade. But when they do turn up, these are usually XF or less:
    1878 VAM 9
    1878 VAM 44
    1878 VAM 123
    1878 VAM 166
    1878-S Long Nocks
    1880-P VAM 1A
    1880-P VAM 7
    1880-O VAM 49
    1887-P VAM 1A
    1889-O VAM 1A
    1891-O VAM 3A
    1895-S VAM 3
    1900-O/CC VAM 9
    1901-P VAM 3
    1901-P VAM 5
    1901-P VAM 7
    1902-P VAM 4
    1903-S VAM 2
    1921-S Thorn Heads
    When in doubt, don't.

I was referring more to ones that are so common in low grades that you've given up on picking them up but that you would jump on quickly in a AU/MS.

I agree on 1888 Oval O's. I've seen dozens of them in the last six months or so.

Thornheads though they may be semi common (usually at least 1 or 2 going at any given point on eBay) are still interesting enough for me to pick up in any grade unless its 1B6.
