With all do respect to AnkurJ's recent thread, I now predict that gold will hit $1000 by week's end!

GoldbullyGoldbully Posts: 18,508 ✭✭✭✭✭
This is the week!!!!!

Why???? It's my understanding that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac backed lenders, will only take payment in gold bullion for an indeterminate period of time !!!!

What say you folk????

Haha, well I predicted "more predictions," who has my jelly donut prize?

These predictions are entertaining, but again, what folks are doing is much more interesting than predictions. Are folks buying? Selling? Planning to buy or sell? Or just another would be pundit that will crow for a victory lap if by some luck, they get one right (like I just did with the bit about more predictions)?

/edit to put it in third person

Actually, I believe it will rise over the next few days, maybe as high as $1000, maybe not.

I'm basing my prediction on this: http://money.cnn.com/2008/07/20/news/economy/paulson_economy.ap/index.htm?cnn=yes and the fact that gold is already up almost $4 before the market even opens. Maybe up $20 tomorrow.

The fact that gold is up $4 at 12:15 EDT means nothing. The gold market doesn't really get going until the London Market opens around 3:30ish am.

And, even that doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot, because the real tell is at 6am, when the Exchange Stabilization Fund kicks into action.

But the final determination is at 8:20 when the CRIMEX, I mean the COMEX opens in NY.

This come from years of watching gold.

And, don't get me wrong, I am extremely bullish in gold as I think it tops $1650 in 2011.

Straw hat barfly here, nothing to report other than to say gold is simmering and waiting for a pop. I'd say one more turn away from $1000 before proceeding. I sold some gold stocks and funds within the past 2 weeks to better optimize by choices.....and do want to get back into others shortly.

The Dollar is up, crude oil is down, and gold isn't going to hit $1000 this week unless hurricane Dolly wipes-out a few platforms and a refinery.

Clearly you underestimated the resolve and shenanigans of the FED and PPT.
