Cherrypickers' guide volume 1?

I've been able to find volume 2 of he cherrypickers' guide without a problem. Some searching has revealed that volume 1 is OOP. Is there a 5th edition comming out anytime soon?

I was wanting & watched this vol. 1. I picked up this first edition from fellow board member cmerlo. Not sure about a 5th edition anytime soon.

Got a copy of this book about two months ago at Jake's Marketplace (was $28)

Still available at this place, seems pretty much sold out elsewhere now. At $55 is running less than ebay from $60-$85.

  • I don't think volume 1 edition 5 will be coming out soon . If I remember right there was something like a one year wait on the last book. If you get any of the books I would say get the fourth edition. It's much more comprehensive than the rest. It covers half cents to five cents only. For some series there is little info. I seldom use the book because I have since bought books that specialize on certain series . I do like the section in the back of the book titled , "The Minting Process". It's very interesting and informative.

    I have v. 1 and v. 2
    I like them.

Almost tempting to unspiral v.1 and scan it in. v.2 is the hardcover spiral, so it would be a bit different to do that.
I figure, if I own them, I can scan them. If I scan them, I can take them with me on trips (notebook PC and also my smartphone) so I always have the info at my fingertips....I could always have Kinko's rebind them, I suppose.....

    I think I paid just under $30 for v1 2 years ago (4th edition)

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Whitman is publishing it and maybe you can ask Dentuk about how its coming when he gets back from his vacation next week.

Call "Miller's Coin and Currency" in Pooler, Ga. Talk to J.T. Stanton and let him sell you one, he works there and I think he has some left over. You can get the number from "DuecemanCurrency.com" or "Panningpaydirt.com.
