TONS of 2008 SAE uncs being sold

but I think it is for the silverbugs.
I think this will be the highest mintage year for the unc SAEs......glad I didn't try to buy more than a few (since I collect vs hoard PMs).
Now, as a PM, it's fine. Anyone who collects them, though, will likely be disappointed by the price performance of this years....for awhile to come.

Thoughts?

I bought two of them for my dansco eagle albums and that's all.

Are you talking about the burnished W mint mark collectors version or the bullion version?

as a PM you can buy earlier dates for a few less pennies from dealers.

I have one for my ASE collection; don't feel the need for more than that.

I usually buy 1 each ( W and non W) for the Dansco, 2 each for grading (W and non W), 2 more for First Strike™ and non-First Strike™ grading (W and non W) and at least 2 each additional in case of something weird happening which sends the prices into the stratosphere!

Given the fact that there have been silver planchet supply problems with the US Mint and so many 2008-W's were ordered and subsequently returned (looking for the REV of 07 coin) 2008 could turn out to be a low production year from an availability standpoint for the 2008-W but that will not be known for another 5 or 10 years. I just do not know.

I've learned over the years that a small investment right now can save me hundreds if not thousands in the not too distant future and IMO, thats simply coin collecting.

At the bare minimum, I do have my Dansco, my registry and my spare coins. I do not hoard rolls of these which I should have done in the past when Silver was at $4.00 an ounce but for right now, its way too late to kick myself for that.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I'm talking about the non-burnished. The "plain" 2008 (non W) versions.
I believe the mintage is already over 10million if I recall from a recent stat in the NN.

In the past, I've bought a roll, or 2, and taken out 4-5 for our albums and such, and given a few away....keeping 1 roll intact.
This year, with the price of silver already higher than before, in January, I didn't......kind of glad, now, that I didn't.
