I must say, looking back, that two day visit is most likely the highlight of my entire photographic and numismatic career to be able to have had the opportunity to personally meet with Mr. Newman and photograph part of his wonderful collection.
And I owe it all to W. David Perkins for making this happen! If you get time, please say thanks to him and Tom Serfass (curator at the Money Museum) for being instrumental in setting this all up from the beginning.

I only got to visit with Eric for one day this past month, and didn't even get to see any of his U.S. coins, just some old books and pamphlets he had laying around.
Both Dave and Rory are wonderful people, along with being truly dedicated numismatists!
Anyone interested in the early federal coinage should make a determined effort to attend the 8am meeting of the JRCS at the ANA show.
I'm not familiar with that registry set but he seems to have a good eye. Does he collect anything else?
