Draped Bust Half - Opinions and Overton Variety?

Walkerguy21DWalkerguy21D Posts: 11,721 ✭✭✭✭✭
Thanks. I purchased this coin at Summer FUN about 2 years ago, selecting it from an old album of early halves. I showed it to ANACS at the time, wondering what it might grade, and why the central detail seemed weak relative to the stars, dentils, etc. They said it was probably struck from a 'buckled die'. Wondering what the folks here think.

The coin is an O109a R3. nice looking coin. I would grade it as a nice looking F15-VF20 (depending on what the surfaces look like in
    Hand)

1807 O-109a, nice coin. The obverse die sunk, you can rock the coin back and forth on the obverse. The coin is probably over 33 mm in diameter, as many of this variety are.

Thanks guys. Any other opinions? So is having been struck on a 'sunk die' a detriment to the value or collectiblity?

While I have no knowledge of the "sunk dies", that's a great coin!
