I just picked this German Medal up from an antique mall last weekend. I got it along with a few other medals and tokens for $5.00. I have no idea what it is or what it in commemorating, if anything. Does anyone know what this this is or what the German writing says? It is about the size of a US half dollar but about twice as think. I think its a proof. If not its prooflike. I cannot tell what kind of metal it is, but it is very heavy and looks gold in color. Although you cant tell from the photo, it is beautifuly toned. ANy help would be appreciated. I posted this same message on the world coin forum for help over there.

No idea. Just having fun. It looks like some kind of store token from Munich.

Many German organizations in the thirties and early forties produced tokens and other memorabilia with natioanlistic tones. A G Mascher was a large company, the AG stands for Aktiengesellschaft (english- corporation).
If you like the token, it was worth the $5 bucks... it also seems to have paid off as an investment for the right buyer
75 euros = $117.40 today.
